Toronto AES to Host 2-Day 'State of Our Sound' Seminar in September

On September 23 and 24, 2018 the Toronto AES will present Seminar 2018: The State of our Sound. Much like group’s Seminar 2008: The Roots of Our Toronto Sound event, this event will profile the many audio industries that are the leaders in Canada’s current audio economy.

Also in 2018, the Toronto section of the AES celebrates its 50th anniversary, while the international Audio Engineering Society marks its 70th. Both milestones will be observed at this event, with special guests to be announced.

A preliminary schedule has been released, which consist of:


  • Session 1 – Recorded music Production: Studio Owners and Managers, Recording Engineers / Producers / Musicians

  • Session 2 – Technology: Loudspeakers, Consoles, Amplifiers, Processing

  • AES President’s Global Address

  • Special Presentation – Keynote

  • Session 3 and 4 – Live Sound: theatre/concert soft seat, corporate boardrooms, big stadiums, festivals, small/medium clubs

  • Banquet – Celebrating Toronto’s Audio Future


Session 5 and 6 – Broadcast and Film Production, VR audio, webcast and live streaming
Session 7 – Acoustics, Architect and Installation

  • “Poster Sessions”
  • Cocktail Reception – Meet the Presenters | Social Networking Event
