This free IMSTA FESTA event is open to all musicians, songwriters, music producers, and audio engineers, as well as music students and educators. The day-long event will feature panels, workshops and master classes, demonstrations and more. Organizers say their aim is to host industry experts in an environment where music-makers can network, interact, and learn with them face-to-face.
As well, IMSTA is now accepting submissions for the IMSTA FESTA Songwriting Competition, which is conducted and hosted by Broadjam. This contest will provide aspiring and established songwriters the opportunity to have their creative pieces heard by industry professionals. Songs with or without lyrics of any genre are welcome. Entries, per region, will be distilled into a top three using Broadjam’s blind listening peer review mechanism. The top three finalists will be heard at a judging panel at each scheduled IMSTA FESTA (LA, CHI, NY, Toronto) where 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winner will be awarded. All finalists must be present for judging. At the end of 2016, the four regional first place winners will compete for the grand prize from which the winning “Song of the Year” will be selected. The Grand Prize winner will attend a songwriting camp hosted by Black Rock Studios in Santorini Greece. Enter song here.
The exhibitors list is available online and additional speakers will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information, go to www.imsta.org.
