Montreal Makes Most Of AES 59th Conference

01 AES aRunning from July 15-17, 2015, the recent AES 59th conference on Sound Reinforcement Engineering and Technology took place at Montreal’s McGill University and several other venues around the city.

Comprised of everything from tutorials, paper presentations, and workshops to technical tours and a host of networking events, the event focused on sound system design, case study analysis, measurement, optimization, installation, and testing.

Discussing how far sound reinforcement technologies have come and where they’re heading were industry luminaries like engineer and innovator George Massenburg, Meyer Sound’s Bob McCarthy, veterean mixing engineer Buford Jones, and acoustician Peter Mapp.

01 AES bOutside of the programming at McGill, attendees also had the opportunity to tour Montreal’s Maison Symphonique and the headquarters for sound, lighting, and video solutions provider Solotech.
