Metalworks Institute Introduces New Digital Music Production Program

MetalworksMississauga, ON’s Metalworks Institute is offering a new, specialty diploma program in Digital Music Production.

According to Metalworks Institute Faculty Member Morgan Pottruff, “We’ve reached a point in time where the digital music production standards are incredibly high. There is a new emerging class of super producers with top notch sound design skills to go with their songwriting and engineering prowess.  A program focusing on these career paths is an idea whose time has come.  If you combine that with the history and credibility of Metalworks Studios and the school’s partnership with them, you have an outstanding educational choice for students.”

According to the institute, the Digital Music Production program emphasizes an acute understanding of sound design and electronic music principals.  Metalworks Institute’s new Digital Music Production program provides students a platform to harness their inner artistic skills and showcase their art, while developing their career opportunities. This program highlights the latest digital music software platforms including Ableton Live, Cubase, Logic, ProTools, and Reaktor.

“We are extremely pleased about what this new curriculum has to offer for students interested in a career in digital music” says Metalworks Institute Academics Director Craig Titus. “The music industry is ever-evolving and digital recording technologies are revolutionizing how independent producers are creating and recording music.  Our Digital Music Production program offers students extensive insight and the practical skills necessary to create their own music using the latest digital recording technologies available.”
