Broadcast and streaming media will be a focal point of the educational sessions and discussion at the 139th AES International Convention, happening Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, 2015 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. Audio, video, and digital media professionals are slated to present on a variety of topics regarding content, delivery, technology, and more, curated by Broadcast and Streaming Media Track Chairman David Bialik.
This year’s panels and presentations represent a broad range of timely topics in today’s evolving broadcast and streaming industry, from both the production and end-user sides. Slated topics will include audio over IP, over the top (OTT) content, 4K and 8K broadcast video, facility design, adaptive streaming, and more. Other presentations include case studies such as “Production of A Prairie Home Companion” and a session on sound design, as well as “Loudness for Streaming,” “Mixing for Live Tele-Media,” and more. The Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) will be administering certification exams on the Sunday of the convention. Additionally, a session celebrating the 50th anniversary of the master antenna on the Empire State Building will be presented in conjunction with the SBE.
Other presentations and events will include an opening keynote address on “Virtual Reality, Audio, and the Future,” delivered by Oculus Chief Scientist Michael Abrash and an all-star “Platinum Latin Producers and Engineers Panel” led by AES President Andres Mayo.
