The Association of Central Canada Broadcast Engineers, Technologists and Technicians (CCBE) will be hosting its annual conference on Sept. 26-29, 2019, in King City, ON.
The conference offers four days of technical papers, workshops, and training sessions conducted by design engineers, industry professionals, and their representatives. It’s an opportunity to meet and talk with technology pioneers, equipment manufacturers, and distributors, as well as a chance to meet with fellow broadcast engineers and technologists attending from Newfoundland to Manitoba, and discuss how they are dealing with their own technical challenges.
The first day's agenda kicks off with a presentation from the CBC's Anthony Kuzub on AES 67 entitled "The Industry from 'The Other Side.'" Also, Frank Lockwood will speak about "The Science of Compression" and Paul Briscoe of SMPTE will present "Replacing SDI with IP and Creating New Standards." Friday also offers a moderated panel on "Perils and Pitfalls of IP Based Radio Studios."
On the Saturday there will be a "campfire chat" on
"State of the Industry/What's Being Asked of Engineers." François Gauthier & Harrie Jones of Monthly Transmitter Readings will present "What ISED Expects Before & During an Inspection."
